Multimedia
I once aspired to become a sculpture artist exclusively, but socioeconomic and physiological realities have a way of altering the course of our desires.
I prefer to create multimedia works small and large regardless. I just no longer work with plaster and use much less wood.
A majority of the sculptures seen here, have not survived travel or time.
The bookmarks are available on my Etsy, and the framed works will be up for sale eventually.

One small pile of Bookmarks. Mini collages of the many thoughts I have at any given moment, upcycled from millions of magazine clippings, gift bags, gifted ribbon, greeting cards, wrapping paper and more. Available for sale on my Esty.

Agave: photograph, paint, glue, sand and thread. 2009 Framed and Sold to a family member during my first solo art show in San Antonio, TX

Oh, We can Fight: This piece was; lost, stolen, or given away, during a period of my life when I disassociated often and misplaced memories of creating many works of art and the experiences I had with people while creating and surviving. 12x12" album insert painted with glued on photography, deck cards, found post card, foil gum wrappers, glitter and cigarette ash

Tangled in Exploitation: created in the summer of 2015 or 2016 I think.

Ensnared by a hammock

damaged in an accidental fire

painted for false modesty

strengthened only by

large bird vertebra for those who wish to fly away

mocking pieces of clothing

stripped by the entitled men

stained with mental bruises and blues

strength born from tainted

delicate innocence

aging into the threads

that bind all of us with vaginas

born into this global vulnerability.

Fruition: A work of Daydreams to Reality

A pencil the size of my leg

a dimensional cloud

hard working grey matter

it lit up from within and unfortunately caught fire.

But did rain down light bulbs of imaginative thoughts... on far away places, people and politics, and things yet to be discovered.

Playtime's Over: A wake up call to the able bodied

That things they've always done or planned to do physically

fun and competition they wanted or used to take part in

could be taken away and replaced by pain

made of my own experiences

my own toys

my X-rays

and MRI's

frozen at a time

when I was called inside

and sung a different

lullaby.

Dream: Made around my birthday in 2005
during a period between night terrors

and insomnia

where it was hard to tell when it was raining

and when I was crying.

formed from; photographs, glass, glitter, and my vulnerable body bathed in my favorite colors.

Low Commotion: Fall of 2007
after a disturbing trip to Florida

where I fell in love with trains again
and wished our society talked about and valued mass transit more.

Forever:
An examination of birth defects
as a result of exposure to,
and irreversible damage done by,
chemical warfare,
known as Agent Orange,
and pesticides
known as DDT's,
which was sold as "human safe" to the American public.

South Korea: Past and Future (was framed and gifted to a beloved friend I consider family) 24x36"
Bjork: Yoga 5x7"
Bjork: Paris, 90's 5x7"
Get a Grip:
Mold of my own hand
tied down but powering on.
